May as well just roll right into the next one, right? Sure, why not. You probably know the drill by now. This is just the initial post about it. This page/post will not be updated. To follow along as progress is made and item are completed, you will want to bookmark this: 101 Things in 1001 Days Version 6 Tracking Page (it can also be accessed from the “101 Things” item on the menu above). So here we go!
101 Things in 1001 Days, Version 6
Welcome to my 6th iteration of 101 Things in 1001 Days. Version 5 ended on my 50th birthday – July 24, 2026 – so this Version 6 list begins the day after and will chronicle the following 2.75(ish) years. I also just realized as I was typing this that it has been 20 years since my first list. WOW!! If you had asked back then “hey Erin, do you think you’ll still be doing these in 20 years?”, I’m not sure what I would have said, but here we are. I guess after growing up as a chronic list maker, it shouldn’t be a surprise.
Read on for an explanation of how this works. If you decide to try your own 101 Things list, please let me know! Here are my previous lists, if you are interested or just need some inspiration:
Begin Date: July 25, 2026
End Date: April 21, 2029
Time Remaining:
The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.
The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (i.e. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (i.e. represent some amount of work on my part).
Why 1001 Days? Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple goals such as new year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.
