“Kings & Queens,” by Ava Max – This song is one of my guilty pleasures. It’s fun and catchy and pretty dumb, but it makes me happy. (Again, everything a good “Song of the Week” should be.) BTW, there are reasons I don’t watch videos. They’re just idiotic, and this one is a perfect example. I’ll stick with audio, thanks!

Headlines, Highlights, and Lowlights
- Since we saw “this week’s” new movie last week at an advanced screening, I didn’t think there would be anything new this week, but Steve found Clint Eastwood’s Juror #2 showing at a single theater (AMC, so not included with our Regal Unlimited), but only at 9:15 AM on both Saturday and Sunday. But we still got up early and headed over there!
- Saw The Fifth Element on the big screen! We’ve watched it at home dozens of times (truly), and Steve and I saw it at theater during its original release. We might have seen it again at the theater at one of the anniversary re-releases, but Luke hadn’t ever seen it on the big screen, so he came home to see it with us when we found out Fathom Events was showing it last weekend.
- Lots of television “fall finales” last week, with about half of our shows returning in late January, so not a ton left to watch. The first week of December will be the last episodes this year for most anything else, I think. Night Court (2023) started its 3rd season this week, which I think is odd timing, but we’re happy to have something still showing new episodes for a bit.
- I did find out that Extended Family and the Quantum Leap reboot were cancelled.
- Started watching The Penguin (Riveting! all episodes are available, so will probably finish this coming week) and Dune: Prophecy (beautiful, interesting, the series just started so will have to watch as the episodes are released)
- It was time to renew our Disney+ subscription, so we upgraded to the Disney+ and Hulu bundle; if you have Hulu recommendations, please let us know; Only Murderers In the Building will probably be first, but we’re open after that
- Saw my doctor on Monday, and she is THRILLED with my weight loss progress. Officially down 47 lbs. Blood pressure is still doing odd things, though. Tried switching one of my BP meds back to something I was on in 2023 (only changed at the suggestion of insurance, because it was cheaper, but my BP hasn’t been as well controlled since coming off of it)
- About half way finished purchasing Christmas gifts

- With the Thanksgiving holiday coming next week, that means it’s almost time for the Drunk Christmas Unicorns! I’m going to be so upset if/when they replace that lawn decoration, or figure out how to make them stable. You can get the “real time” updates if you follow me on Facebook and/or Instagram.
- Hoping to catch Wicked and Gladiator II both before my next update, but I can’t promise. Had something (good!) come up unexpectedly today that might take up our designated movie time, but if it works out, it will be 100% worth it.
- Speaking of next week’s Highlight Reel, it might possibly be late with the Thanksgiving holiday involved. I guess that’s actually a “Coming Not As Soon.”
- And just in case it is December before the next one of these is ready, I wanted to go ahead and mention that Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, which starts on December 2 on Disney+
