Blogging About Blogging

I am here, and that is enough

I debated for months about whether or not to start a new blog. I really miss doing it, the act of just sitting and typing out my thoughts. I do use both Facebook and Instagram a lot, but I try to keep those relatively short (even if it doesn’t feel that way to some people! LOL). I also miss having it as a reference for when we did things. A blog is much easier to search than your own Facebook or Instagram feeds, IMO. I used to “consult the blog” often when we were trying to remember when Luke was tall enough to ride his first real roller coaster, or what year we ate at which Disney restaurant. But having effectively not blogged at all for the last 5-6 years, I don’t have that for most of middle school and all of high school for L.

I finally decided to get back to it, and may as well move it to my own domain/WebPress while I was at it. But would anyone read it? Does that really matter? I mostly just blog for me, like a journal, which was always the original intent of blogging. But does anyone care? It’s just me babbling about my life and my thoughts. Just me, and I’m not really anyone, and my life isn’t amazing or adventurous. In fact, it’s pretty dull most of the time, which is fine with me. Too much excitement can be exhausting!

Even so, I wanted to try to get the hang of WordPress and have at least some content (more than 1 or 2 posts). Then I could decide whether or not to “announce” the new blog to my friends. before “debuting” the new page/blog to the world; still VERY much a work in progress and a learning experience, so please be patient if things get wonky (and please let me know; as soon as I get my comments and/or contact form working, which will be as soon as I learn more about WordPress; what can I say, it’s a vicious cycle)

Mercury Stardust is someone I started following a few weeks ago on Instagram, and she is such an inspiration in so many ways. So when she posted a video this week, saying that just showing your life IS the best content, I decided to go on and not only keep the blog, and keep blogging, but to share and let people know that it’s here. A few people have figured that out already, since they follow the Instagram account that I have “rebranded” to go with my new domain name (more on that in a later post). Please be aware that I am still getting the hang of using WordPress, and this is still very much a work in progress and learning experience for me, so please be patient if things get wonky (and let me know in the comments if something is broken for you; can’t promise I can fix it, but at least I will be aware). I will also be transporting posts from my old blog as time allows.

But for now, I am here, and that is enough.
