MovieMuse 2024 Year In Review – Best/Most Used Items

Things I really enjoyed and/or couldn’t have managed without this year.
2024 Year In Review – Top 10 Favorite or Most Used Gifts/Purchases
I’ve talked about a few items that I’ve been loving in other 2024 Recap posts, so I won’t repeat those here, but there are a few more things I wanted to spotlight.
- Spotify – technically a Christmas gift from last year, but really started using it this year
- Portable Air Conditioner – truly a life saver when our air conditioning was out for weeks
- New Recliners – we bought our other ones while I was pregnant with Luke, so they were 20+ years old; the foot rest on mine was bent and no longer attached on one side, and Steve’s had a hole or two (thanks, cats!) in the fabric
- New Christmas Tree – we lost half the lights on our tree two years ago, and I started looking for a replacement in mid-December, which is apparently far too late to shop for a Christmas tree if you want any selection, so we simply didn’t have a tree last year; I was determined not to have that problem this year, so we picked up a new one right after Thanksgiving
- Floss Stick – still not a big fan of flossing my teeth, but this helps so much!
- Customizable Multicolor 5-in-1 Pen(s) – LOVING this! So much easier than trying to keep up with separate pens for my journal; I tried the Pilot Hi-Tec-C Coleto and the Uni-ball Style Fit, but I prefer the Pilot Coleto.
- Microfiber Washcloths (a BUNCH of them) with Receptacle – better for the environment than disposable, but I don’t have to remember to wash a load of them every week
- New Bathroom Rugs – finally some bathroom rugs that truly do not migrate across the floor
- Journal Stickers – started using stickers in my journal in the middle of the year, and I finally have my preferred icons perfected; all set for 2025!
- New “Everyday” Earrings – I now have adorable “catting sitting on a crescent moon” titanium earrings that I wear every day, even to bed; I have to check them periodically to make sure they are sitting upright, but I absolutely love them
2024 Year In Review – Top 10 Most Helpful Items While On Zepbound
This is something I get asked a lot, so I thought I would add them on here
- MyFitnessPal – tracking my weight, calories, and macros daily is essential for me
- Food Scale – portion control is also key, and most people (including me) are terrible at visually estimating; if you really want to know how much you’re eating, then weigh it
- Fairlife Nutrition Shakes – literally the only protein shake I can stand to drink, and it would be incredibly difficult to make my doctor’s recommended minimum of 100 grams per day without it
- Stainless Steel Insulated Water Bottle – hydration is so critical, especially with some of the side effects
- Magnesium Glycinate – Zepbound really messes with my sleep (as in, I was only getting 3-5 hours of sleep per night), and magnesium glycinate has been incredibly helpful
- Fiber One Protein Chewy Bars in Caramel Nut Flavor – tastes like a candy bar, low sugar, high fiber (and ironically, not much protein, but better than a typical candy bar or “granola bar”)
- ACT Dry Mouth Gum and SmartMouth Xylitol Mints – I get severe cotton mouth from Zepbound; these two things help more than anything else I’ve tried
- Barilla Whole Grain Pasta – tastes like regular pasta, lots of protein, and plenty of fiber
- Eggs and Egg Whites – for days when I need a high protein meal and I’m sick of chicken
- Mission Carb Control Tortillas – 15-20 grams of fiber per wrap, depending on size and style; I use the soft taco size to make a quick individual pizza some days for lunch
