Mrs. Brown

Mrs. Brown (1997) – Did Queen Victoria actually have another man in her life after the death of her beloved Albert? The film that pretty much put Judi Dench on the map, internationally speaking at least. Pretty typical sweet little historically based British film, but well done (as always). I’m not always a fan of Billy Connolly, but he was enjoyable enough in this and had good chemistry with Dench. This film even had an “unofficial” sequel made 20 years later, titled Victoria and Abdul, which is also very good.
