Digital Scrapping

Peepers

Many of you know Melanie Simmonds, a.k.a. Medieval Needle. You probably also know that she (well, okay, her mother) has a new cat named Peepers, who is black and white and named for some of the most gorgeous green eyes you have ever seen. She posted a photo of Peepers on her blog recently that I totally fell in love with. I knew pretty much exactly what I wanted to do with it, so I asked her permission to use it in a scrapping layout, and she said yes. So here it is: Peepers. Enjoy!

This is a wonderful photo of my friend Melanie’s cat Peepers, a black and white cat with the most stunning green eyes. When I saw this picture on her blog, I immediately knew I wanted to try this technique of layering a B&W photo on top of a color one and then erasing the eyes so that the iris color showed through. She kindly allowed me the use of her photo. I love it so much, I may try another layout or two with it in the future. Thank you Melanie!

For some reason, blogspot won’t let me log in and comment. I know you from the Wagon; it’s Maree/bibliocat from NZ.
I just wanted to say what a beautiful scrapbooking job you did with your friend’s cat. 🙂

Wow that is such a lovely piece of scrapbooking Erin 🙂 And those eyes are just so adorable – I bet Mel was over the moon when she saw it.

    That is beautiful Erin.

Is there a site somewhere that explains how to start this kind of scrapping? I’m intensely curious but don’t know where to start.

    Wow. Gorgeous Peepers layout.

I’m serious. I swore for years that I would never start scrapping b/c I didn’t have time for that and stitching. I was right. If I start digi-scrapping, it’s game over.
