Volume: A Conversation With Luke

Heaven help us, we’re teaching Luke the nuances of the television remote.

• Luke: Mommy, I can’t hear it.
• Me: When the sound is off like this, it’s called “mute.” This button turns the mute on and off.
• DH: And the white buttons next to it that say “V-O-L.” Those turn the volume up and down.
• Luke: You mean side to side.

(Well, he’s got a point.)
